Meet My Main Character: Meryt Brownstone of Eternal Traces

ancient Egypt Paranormal Romance.jpg

This is part of a blog hop that I participated in a while back. During the Halloween Season, I’ll be running some FREE Kindle days for my paranormal romance series. I’ll also be starting a new writing contest, so watch this blog! (Subscribe in the sidebar)

In the meantime, get to know my main character, Meryt Brownstone.

Meryt is highly intelligent, instinct driven and hot tempered. She’s the kind of person who must stay busy, but not just busy for the sake of being busy (like in the saying idle hands are the devil’s workshop) but rather busy in the sense of pushing her body and mind further than the day before.

This motto has served her well over the years, as she is a cardiologist and a government agent.

1. What is the name of your main character? Is she fictional or a historical person?

Her name is Dr. Meryt Brownstone. Meryt is a 42 year old Africa-American female. She enjoys pushing the envelope to the edge, but she would never admit to it. Meryt is a fictional character, born from Queen Nefertiti.

In history, Nefertiti plays a pivotal role in Egypt, but she is mostly known for her famous bust found in a German Museum.

2. When and where is the story set?

The story spends a third of its time in Ancient Egypt and the rest in present day. Since Meryt must stay busy, you should probably know she is a traveler. She keeps her bag packed and is prepared to jump on or out of a plane for the sake of a mission.

3. What should we know about her?

Meryt has nightly dreams that don’t make sense in her current life. She’s the kind of person who works on facts and gut instincts, and dreams about death and lost love confuse her.

4. What is the main conflict? What messes up her life?

What sends Meryt into a tailspin is when her dreams start to take over her life. The men from her dreams become reality. One is a lover and the other is a killer and they are both vampires.

5. What is her personal goal?

If you’ve ever fallen in love, then you know love can take your breath away. So Meryt, who is normally the master of her domain, is experiencing the drama of being in love while at the same time trying to uncover who the real killer is and what is his motive.

6. What’s the title for this novel and can we read more about it?

Yes! Eternal Traces is the title. It has a double meaning. I would love to tell you the theory behind the title, but I might spoil the story.

7. When can we expect the next book to be published?

Book I Eternal Traces and Book II Eternal Burns are available in ebook and paperback form. If time is willing, Book III will be coming in the not too distant future.

About shondabrock

I'm a southern in my heart and a northern in my soul. I've had a few bad wines, but for the most part I've enjoyed enough good wines that it makes up for the few bad bottles. I enjoy writing, but more than writing itself, I love telling a good story, taking my reader off on an adventure starting with "What If"…. I'm a sucker for the Paranormal Romance genre. To me, its nice to be released from "What Is Expected" and believe for 250 pages in "What If's". Its like a vacation with out passports, waiting in line and an expensive credit card bill when you return home. Please Enjoy, but more importantly Stay Inspired…
