Dr. Meryt Brownstone is the friendly doctor on your local hospital’s emergency room staff. She is a beautiful, reluctantly 40’s-ish African American cardiologist who cares about her community and each and every one of her patients.

After long shifts saving lives, she lingers in the lab analyzing tests and reports to finalize the development of synthetic blood. Her work is her life, and her colleagues greatly respect her for it.

You would think that when she finally left the hospital and drove to her cozy house in upstate New York that she would curl up by the fire with a cup of tea and a good book. Well, think again.

Meryt is approached by the Daniels family during her work and falls for the younger blue-eyed brother, Rene. It’s not till after she’s given him her heart that she finds out the reason his family is so interested in her blood research.

They are a family of vampires whose elder is being attacked by a mysterious illness and who might only be saved by Meryt’s discoveries. Meryt saves the head of their clan, but does not forgive nor forget Rene’s betrayal.

Meryt is not just that nice doctor lady. She is an agent for a secret branch of the United States government. She’s been on many a crucial mission for her country, not excluding one that will take her to Sudan to rescue a kidnapped girl from a vicious warlord. She doesn’t have time for the drama or a man’s lies. But even though she ends things with Rene, it’s too late.

Rumors spread among the vampire grapevine about Rene and Meryt’s forbidden tryst. Rene is abducted by the coven and only Meryt can save him.

So how does a mere human woman defeat a mob of powerful, immortal, angry vampires?

Meryt has a secret weapon.

What is it?

You’ll just have to find out when you read the book!

About shondabrock

I'm a southern in my heart and a northern in my soul. I've had a few bad wines, but for the most part I've enjoyed enough good wines that it makes up for the few bad bottles. I enjoy writing, but more than writing itself, I love telling a good story, taking my reader off on an adventure starting with "What If"…. I'm a sucker for the Paranormal Romance genre. To me, its nice to be released from "What Is Expected" and believe for 250 pages in "What If's". Its like a vacation with out passports, waiting in line and an expensive credit card bill when you return home. An additional note: I've started another blog page for Home Care. I know the two are unrelated, but in my world they are. My paying job is 100% dedicated to Home Care and educating families on their new journey. One of my favorite quotes, I leave with all of my clients. "One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things." - by Henry Miller Please Enjoy, but more importantly Stay Inspired…
