Cursed Love Contest

For those who are damned…

This contest is designed for writers and readers who enjoy a good old fashioned cursed love. A type of love, that no matter how hard the heroine or hero obsesses over their love it will not be returned and if it does? It comes back demented or cursed.

In 690 words or less give me a cursed love story that will leave me begging to turn the page.

Contest rules:

  1. Contest is open to all amateur and professional writers.
  2. Piece can me now more than a year old.
  3. Piece can not have won any other contests.
  4. Entrants must be 18 years or older.
  5. All genres are welcome excluding erotica and those with extremely graphic scenes, fetish themes, and/or overly-explicit language. Such entries will be disqualified at the discretion of the judges.
  6. Contest begins 10/30/2017. Entries will close on 2/14/2018. ENTRIES HAVE BEEN EXTENDED TILL WEDNESDAY FEB 21, 2018.
  7. Winner will be announced 3/14/2018.
  8. Top five entries will be published on Shonda Brock’s websites and social media profiles.
  9. Winner will receive a VISA gift card in the amount of $100. If winner is outside North America, they will be given the equivalent in an Amazon eGift card.

        I entered two stories by mistake. The one that I wanted to be entered is titled “Return”, not “Black Veil”. My sincerest apologies and I hope you had received my entry.

        Sorry for the delay. I remembered seeing your message but I couldn’t remembered where I saw the message. I read both and I had to immediately visited your site. I liked them both. I don’t have them in front of me now. I think one was shorter?

    I want to enter this contest, but I’m confused about one thing. Can we just come up with an opening line, or does it have to be the first of a story, paragraph, etc.?

    Hi Shondra. The shorter one titled Return is the one I wanted to submit for the contest. Black Veil was completely accidental lol. My apologies I just wanted to know if that one got in.
